Brin is a great producer with a strong medial attachment. She has lovely udder texture and milks out easily. She will go on milk test in the spring. Brin is a very sweet, gentle girl and her doeling and buckling from 2023 (Zinnia) and (Cedar) have very similar temperaments.

Reservations:

In order to reserve a kid, we require a $100 deposit. This deposit is non-refundable and will be applied to your final payment. Kids are sold in order of deposits received. We will notify you when our kids are born and it is your turn to choose. If a kid is not born that meets your gender and agreed upon criteria, your deposit will be refunded or you may choose to transfer the deposit to next year. In all other situations, deposits are non-refundable. Hidden Orchard Homestead reserves the right to retain any kid born on our farm.

We raise our kids with a hybrid bottle feeding/dam raising method. We believe that it is best for the kids to be raised by their dam; however, we also train them to a bottle which aids in the transition to their new home and allows for some flexibility in the timing of their leaving. When you make a reservation, we will discuss plans for the timing of when the kid should be picked up.

We do not vaccinate on our farm.

We do use an herbal protocol to minimize the risk of coccidiosis in kids transitioning to new homes.

All kids will be disbudded. Doelings and breeding bucklings will be tattooed and come with MDGA registration papers.

To reserve a kid email us at hiddenorchardhomestead(at)gmail.com or send a message on our Facebook page.

Note on Bucklings - This year the majority of the bucklings born on our farm will be sold as wethers or unregistered homestead breeders. We want to do our best to only contribute the very best genetics to the Mini Nubian breed through our bucks. If you are interested in a buck from a specific pairing, please contact us and we can discuss the possiblity. Wethers are available as bottle babies at 4-8 weeks old for $150. They come disbudded and castrated. For more info feel free to email us at hiddenorchardhomestead(at)gmail.com
